Game 2 — vs. Hulks

The Fireballs were very excited for their second game of the season and second game against a green coloured team.

The Hulks had some pretty good (i.e. experienced) kids so it was going to be a very hot, long and hard game for both our young teams.

Right from the kick–offs, it seemed clear that the Hulks were coming out on top. They were a little bit game–smarter than us and exploited our inexperience well with lots of goals.

However, what was VERY IMPRESSIVE to the Coaches is that the Fireballs never gave up and never stopped running.

The kids all put forth a lot of effort this week. Bryson B., Bryson W. and Rocco B. all running, tackling hard, making good chances and scoring some good goals.

Noah H. and Cole W. were super impressive at keeping the ball OUT of our net too (just as important) with some good tracking back and goal line clearances!

Travis S., Jack D. and Isaac K. were always keen to get involved and never stopped trying their best. Some great tackles and dribbling from all three of them.

Unfortunately the Hulks were better on the day and a little bit more polished in all departments.

The final score by our guess was around 15–3 and 11–3.

The kids weren’t too happy about getting beat so hopefully they will be more motivated to try to learn how to start winning some games.

(Special mention — big thank you to Shawn B. for another great stint being a Referee.)

There was lots of really good play from our guys and I am sure once we can sort out tackling each other and a bit more teamwork we will get even better.

A definite step up from last week and we are continuing to improve!
