The Fireballs came into their third game of the season against another more–experienced team — The Scorpions.
Pleasant Hill Fireballs were without one of their team members as Jack D. was feeling under the weather.
Both Fireball teams did very well, improving again and this week we managed to win one game and narrowly lose the other.
In the first game, Travis S. showed very nimble feet and Isaac K. was a lot more involved than his first few games. Some good tackling and clearing the ball.
Noah H. didn’t see much of the ball this week but ran himself into the ground as he buzzed like a bumblebee all round the field (I smell a nickname).
In the second game, huge thumbs up to both Rocco B. and Cole W. for playing the whole match in tandem with the Brysons.
The Crocodile and The Hammer were up to their usual level of good work and were outstanding in defence and attack.
Rocco B. and Cole W. played very well against a tough (well-matched Scorpions) team and they did well to help squeeze out a victory for the Fireballs.
Both Brysons, Bryson W. and Bryson B. were very good team players this week as they both played half a game for each of our teams.
Bryson W. was his usual bowling–ball self (I smell another nickname), knocking over the opposition (legally of course) and causing all sorts of problems in attack for the Scorpions. Hitting the post quite a few times.
Bryson B. on the other hand was doing his best to dance round the opposition with his great dribbling and golden boots. He also did very well not to respond to bad sportsmanship from the Scorpions. I’ve never seen anyone dribble with their hands in their ears shouting “LA LA LA” before!
Well done guys.
Thank you also to Jeremy K. for stepping in last minute to referee one of the games. What he lacked in official uniform, whistle and training he made up for in effort and willingness to help. Thanks Jeremy, we all really appreciated it.
